As Seen on Fox 11: All Things Berries

Berries are getting to be bountiful this time of year. Simple ideas using berries for the season can be easy, delicious and relatively healthy.

Here are a few recipe ideas:

  1. Take vanilla yogurt and put a little honey in it. Add your berries, such as raspberries, strawberries and blueberries, and top with apricot and almond granola.
  2. Take blueberries and cook them up with a little sugar and lemon, then puree it for a blueberry syrup. Add it to the bottom of a martini glass. Add balsamic vinegar and brown sugar to more cut berries, and load up your berries on top.
  3. For a lovely salad, use butter lettuce wedges (cut a large wedge in half), and add strawberries, candied pecans (or nuts of your choice) and queso fresco. Use wine balsamic vinegar, oil, dijon, lemon juice and sugar. Top with salt and pepper.
  4. For a berry cobbler, try using your favorite berries, a little brown sugar and a crumble made out of oatmeal.
